Louis Pasteur, want a bagel?
Posted by Jess in
Day to Day
I always like to keep a book tucked away in the back seat of my car somewhere. You just never know when you'll be stuck in a waiting room, or early for an appointment.
Right now, I've got Michael Crichton's Timeline that I'm reading (which was not a very good pick. It's tough to pick it back up after 2 months and remember what's going on).
But it's not the what that's important. It's the where. For some reason, I always end up having to grab a quick bagel at Dunkin' Donuts for lunch every so often, and end up bringing my book in and reading while I eat.
So imagine what happens when I have a doctor's appointment last week and have to wait. I bring my book in. I open it up and start reading.
I get the BIGGEST craving for a Dunkin' Donuts bagel EVER. I can't stop thinking about Dunkin' Donuts. I can smell it, taste it, I can practically HEAR the coffee brewing.
Of course this either means I need to get out more, or I should cut back on the carbohydrates. Those bagels are deadly!
Maybe I'll just start reading a new book and see what happens.

i just carry the same book around with me to avoid that whole "picking it up after two months" business. right now i am reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
it turns out that TV sucks (they cancelled Farscape!) and hockey season ends tonight so i think there is a lot more reading in my future...
I think you mean Pavlov, not Pasteur you dumbass. ;-)
I read that one. You know me, the geek. I carry my Ebook so I have a few at my fingertips
LOL. I thought it was Pasteur, so I did a quick search and just looked at Google's summary. I guess the two P names are usually on the same page. hehehehe...
I'll go stuff a bagel in my own mouth. ;-)
Whaaaaaaa--!! Farscape? Cancelled?
DRAT!
we don't subscribe to cable these days (the cable modem is quite enough, thank you, i just can't see sending 90 bucks to the cable company every month) so lately my wife has been checking out Farscape dvds from the library for me. This is exceedingly kind of her since she hates the show, can hardly stand to watch even five minutes of it. She is very nice, and i am a lucky guy! :-)
At any rate, I am disappointed to hear of the demise of Farscape... I did like that one.
:-(
Dunkin Donuts Bagel! Give me a break! Get a real bagel!
Bruce
Tough crowd this week. ;-)
I like dunkin' donuts. Which is good, considering we don't have much of a choice around here at ALL.
Though, if I'm grabbing a bagel for lunch, it's probably because I'm starving, don't have much time, and too hungry to care about what I'm eating anyway!
