Changing the Desktop Wallpaper
Are you tired of the blue clouds yet? Sick of the bland green screen? Sounds like it’s time to change your Windows desktop wallpaper. It’s easy!
You have options. LOTS of options, to be exact. There’s three different ways you can change your wallpaper.
1. Find a picture you like, click, it’s your wallpaper.
Have you ever been surfing the web, and see a great picture that belongs on your desktop? All you need to do is click your right mouse button on the picture, and scroll down to Set as wallpaper. The next time you go back to your desktop, there it is!
2. Find a picture you like, save it to your hard drive, set as wallpaper later.
The first option will overwrite itself each time you set another picture as your wallpaper. In order to avoid losing the first picture should you ever want it back, simply save it to your hard drive first. Click the right mouse button on the picture, and scroll to Save picture as. Choose a folder on your hard drive to save the picture in. I recommend creating a new folder just for your pictures (to learn how to create a new folder, click here).
Now, go back to your desktop. Right-mouse click anywhere that’s not an icon, and scroll to Properties. You should now be in the Background tab of your computer’s Display Properties. Find the Browse button, and click on it. Find the folder on your hard drive where you saved the picture, and then click Open to select the picture you want. Click OK to exit Display Properties, and you should see your wallpaper!
3. Webshots!
Webshots is a web site that makes changing your desktop wallpaper even easier than it already is! The site will walk you through downloading a small file to install on your computer. Once installed, you can revisit Webshots as often as you like, find a picture, and simply click on it once to set it as your wallpaper. Not only that, but the web site will even change your wallpaper automatically on a schedule that you provide.
It’s easy to get rid of those blue clouds once you’re ready. Just pick one method above, and you’ll soon be hooked on finding a bigger and better picture!
