Just What Are All Those Icons on my Browser?

Your browser has many functions, however you need to know how to USE it to take advantage of all the features it has. Here’s some explanation of those weird icons you see while you surf using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Back
Takes you to the previous screen you were on.
Forward
Takes you to the screen you were on before you hit the Back button.
Stop
Stops the downloading of the current page (useful if a page is taking a long time to load one picture).
>Refresh
Refreshes/reloads the current page (useful for viewing new contents of a site that continually updates itself with information).
Home
Takes you directly to your home/start page (for more information on how to change your home page, click here!).
Search
Opens a frame on the left side of the screen to search the Internet.
Favorites
Opens a frame on the left side of the screen to display web sites you have added to your Favorites (bookmarks).
History
Opens a frame on the left side of the screen to display every web site you have visited recently (for more information on how History can help you find lost web sites, click here!).
Mail Options
Allows you to open your e-mail program to read new messages, or create a new message.
Print
Print the current web page (for more information on how to print the background also, click here!).
Edit
Allows you to edit the current page in FrontPage Express or Microsoft Word.
